A Fontana man who was a softball coach for a travel team was arrested after being identified as a suspect by three alleged victims, who said they assaulted them in the past five to six years, the police department said. Fontana.
Osbaldo Gonzalez, 44, was the suspect identified and arrested on April 9 on various charges related to child sexual abuse, according to San Bernardino County Jail records.
Gonzalez was charged Tuesday with eight counts of obscene felony and lascivious acts with a minor as well as sexual assault and child abuse for alleged incidents from 2015 to 2021, according to the files of the Superior Court of the County of San Bernardino.
It was not immediately clear whether Gonzalez had an attorney who could comment on the charges.
In early April, three victims came forward and identified Gonzalez as the suspect who repeatedly assaulted them, police said in a statement on Tuesday. He allegedly sexually assaulted the victims at his home in Fontana and other locations while traveling with the softball team, police said.
